On one of the chilliest nights this season, our team took a break from our usual deliveries and enjoyed an evening doing something a little different. We took a drive through Brooklyn and Manhattan, sharing more than 200 hot meals with those living on the streets.
There wasn't a campaign or a big announcement to go along with it. We noticed the temperature dropping and thought it was time to do something about it. We connected with people in their everyday spaces on sidewalks, near train stations, under scaffolding, and along the familiar streets we travel each day for work. Some were looking for food, some were in the mood for a chat, and some simply wanted to feel noticed.
Xentra Transport focuses on efficient movement and punctuality. Being a local business in New York means engaging with the city in ways that go beyond just contracts and routes. The very streets we navigate for our deliveries are the same ones where individuals find themselves resting when they have no other place to turn. Evenings such as this highlight that logistics is just one aspect of what it truly means to function in this environment.
We’re thankful for the opportunity to contribute, and we take pride in our team for their immediate willingness to step up. This wasn’t about seeking applause; it was about stepping up and providing help when times were hard and individuals required assistance.
As we progress, we’ll maintain our approach: be present, execute our tasks effectively, and add value wherever possible. New York offers so much, and when the chance arises to contribute, we’re all in.
